Deputy Fired, Charged With Assaulting Wife

LELAND, N.C. (AP) -- A North Carolina sheriff's deputy has been accused of assaulting his estranged wife.

The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office says it has fired 28-year-old Nicholas Dillon.

Dillon is charged with assault on a female in neighboring Brunswick County.

Dillon's wife is a Wilmington police detective who investigates domestic violence cases.

Leland Police Lt. Karl Smith said the woman was hit in the face and ribs outside her home in Leland. She was treated and released from a hospital Sunday.

Dillon was hired by the sheriff's office in 2007. He had worked part-time since August.

Tulips, the main word in the article is "estranged wife" (meaning they are separated), the estranged wife is the domestic violence detective, they do not live together. Men just can't seen to accept being divorced or separated, must have to do with their macho.

Officers are people to, some of them think the badge and gun give them power and are self centered but the truth is you never no what happens behind closed doors until you get busted. I think he should get what he deserves and that is the real law. He needs to get slammed!

Hope he goes to prison. Should meet some folks he put away and then they will give him the beat down he deserves for hitting a woman.

Data Man you need more Input.Did you not see the pictures of her black eye and bruised jaw and bruised arm in the shape of finger prints that OJ did to her a year or two before he murdered her.The glove didnt fit,Yeah right.Robert Shapiero put the glove on with no problem having the same size hands.Blood in the truck, blood in the motel, blood on his clothes, blood everywhere. Most be a coincidence.I could go on and on about this and trust me you will lose but this is a another story.Back to the topic.I lived in Leland for a few months I'm sure thier are probably some good people there but I could not find any.Really strange and rude people at least the ones I met.

DATA MAN- are you serious??? OJ killed his ex-wife. Just because he was found "not guilty" doesn't mean he is. He just had really good lawyers. ALL the evidence lead to him. What this man did was wrong- PERIOD. No man has a right to lay his hands on a woman, I don't care what she does. It's not a case of who has the upper hand. It's a case of right and wrong.

First of all, no man should put his hand on a woman. A man has got to be crazy to hit a woman this day and time. Look at OJ; he was accused of murder and never even touched the woman at all! After his case the laws became tougher on men that hit women. A woman knows that she has the upper hand when it comes to the law. So he was crazy to even do that.
