Neighborhood Watch? Police Say Woman Attacked

It's not the kind of neighborhood watch you'd probably like. Police in Rocky Mount say a woman was hit, possibly by a crowbar, by two other women who wanted to know if she was new to the neighborhood.

Valiesha Harrell suffered a broken leg in the assault that happened around 3:00 a.m. Monday on Cokey Road. The 35-year-old woman told police as she was leaving the Fuel Doc, she was approached by the two women and was assaulted.

So far there have been no arrests, and police are hoping that witnesses who saw the attack will come forward with more information. You can contact Crimestoppers at 252-977-1111 or police at 252-972-1411.
