The owner of a Jacksonville and Wilmington bike shop was been charged with altering or changing the manufacturer's serial numbers on salvaged motorcycles
The charges come after a lengthy investigation by the North Carolina DMV.
David Britt of Wilmington was charged on Tuesday with the crimes.
The DMV also charged Robert Connelly who works at the Britt Motorsports location in Wilmington.
The DMV said the motorcycles were seized and found to have numbers removed, and then put on other motorcycles.
Britt's bond was set at $20,000 dollars.
