Beaufort County Man Wants To Know Who Set His Dog On Fire

A Beaufort County man wants to know who set his hunting dog on fire. Tony Lewis Junior says his dog went missing last Monday from his friends house.

Jungle Cry, Lewis's dog, was found near Nevels Road Creek in Blounts Creek.

Lewis believes someone took some type of lighter fluid to ignite the skin on his seven year-old American Walker Fox Hound.

The dog did survive and was found hiding in a neighbors garage severely burned.

The dog would be put down at the suggestion of Lewis's veterinarian. On Jungle Cry's collar was a name and phone number according to Lewis.

"If Cry was a nuisance all they had to do was call and somebody would have come and picked her up. What they did to this dog is inhumane," said Lewis standing outside the garage where his dog was found.

Beaufort County Animal Control is investigating this case. If you have any information you are asked to call authorities. Their number is 252-946-4517.

I also don't understand how it is fair a convicted criminal gets to make millions a year for having fun when law abiding citizens have to suffer through tough time every day.

Just Saying, I am not sure being lumped with Alpha is a credit to my resume. I still cannot get over the visual of what probably happened to this dog. Comprehending how someone could be this mean reminds me of how Vick murdered his dogs that lost their fight. Then, thinking of an 8 year old dog, in its senior days....and how someone, could do this with conscience is beyond me.

OK, OSOC, you are also comment worthy, happy?

So sad for the owners and for this hound. It's been a few days since I have posted.I truly enjoy the posting opposite OSOC on some political matters, but on this matter I will have to agree with OBSC.The person(S) responsible for this crime should be convicted and yes it is a crime.A-F, yes I am shocked to hear of such behavior as this,as well as any human being being killed. If the pooch was running free and happen to bother some there are all types of organizations and volunteers that are happy to help in the event of a stray or lost animal. There is also no doubt this animal wasn't aggressive as someone had to be able to get some type of flammable fluid on him.,This crime is unexcusable and is shocking.Love my pooch and no one had better ever HURT MY DOG! I mean it guys !

You should read the rules before posting. Nobody cares about your 1000 words. I'm pretty sure if WITN is offended by any of your words they will take your comment off. So you can't say whatever you want. To Tony Lewis, I really hope they catch the jerk that did that to your dog. It's sad that anybody had the odasity to do that to an animal. There are sick people out there. But then again I'm pretty sure alpha female would love to meet this guy since she's single and apparently flaunting that around.. Hmm wonder why she's single, oh maybe because nobody wants to deal with a psycho :D

I must agree with craig and karen, alpha female sounds like someone in need of attention. Her ignorant comments need not be posted by WITN. I hope we can find the culprit who would use such cruelty toward a stray dog.

All I did was post "MY OPINION", but some of you had to argue what "I THOUGHT". Next time, don't worry about me.. submit "YOUR OWN OPINION". It is that simple. Go back and count all the post that are directed to ~ALPHA female~. My post are only in response. I haven't attacked anyone first! You people made this thread about me..... You can have it back. This is my last post on this thread. Now lets see how many more comments after this one continues to be about ALPHA. Get back on topic!

Nope, just showing people how immature you are. Which I didn't even have to do that, people are realizing it on their own. So little girl make sure you tell your mommy that somebody was being mean to you on the website. Have a nice day.

WITN you have a person -ALPHA female~ Location: O84P on Oct 30, 2009 at 03:43 PM- who is immature enough to wish what happened to this poor animal on a person she disagrees with (it should have been you instead of Cry). Why do you allow vindictive posts that have nothing to do with the article about the dog? Seems that you should do a better job of policing offensive material. Alpha female has made this all about her instead of about the issue of animal cruelty. Quit posting her egocentric comments. I for one have learned to skip her rants.

I've been following this story for a few days and I think yes, we do need to stick to the story and think about Cry and her owners. My hope is that the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office will be able to determine who or whom was responsible for this. I also realize that things take time. I just don't want the true issue to become lost in all the attention Alfa female seems to have stirred up. Let's just hope for justice for Cry.
