People Robbed In Motel Room

Three people were robbed at gunpoint just after midnight Monday morning at a motel in Rocky Mount.

Rocky Mount police say it happened at the Gold Rock Inn & Suites on Highway 48. Antonio Knight told police that he and his cousin, Robert Sharpe, had just returned to the room when there was a knock at the door.

Four men forced their way into the room, all of them armed. Those inside were ordered to get on the floor. Items taken during the robbery include a briefcase, keys, gold chains, a cell phone, pocket book and a wallet.

Before leaving the gunmen, who were wearing black jackets and gloves, sprayed mace throughout the room. They were last seen driving a dark Chevy Suburban south on Highway 48.
