Bicyclist Sent To Hospital After Hit And Run, Troopers Searching For Suspect

Troopers are asking for your help in solving a hit and run that put a teenage bicyclist in the hospital.

The Highway Patrol says the hit and run happened in Onslow County late Sunday night, at the intersection of U.S. 258 near Trott Road near Richlands, according to the Jacksonville Daily News. The papers says the 19 year-old man on the bike was taken all the way to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville. He was listed in serious condition Monday.

There is a reward being offered for information leading to an arrest. People with information are asked to call Jacksonville/Onslow Crime Stoppers at 910-938-3273 or the N.C. State Highway Patrol at 910-347-1751.

    I see many people riding their bikes at night time. They ride against traffic, wear dark clothes, and don't have sufficient lights on their bikes for nighttime riding. I wonder if the driver even realizes he/she hit someone? It's sad. You should ride with the traffic, wear bright-colored clothes, and have lights on the bike if you need to ride at night, especially if it's on the highway.

    Bet the supsect and the car can be found in the hood of Onslow County.
