Police need your help in catching an armed robber who forced his way into a man's car at a Wal-Mart parking lot.
New Bern police say it happened around 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning at the Wal-Mart on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.
Michael Howey told officers that a man followed him into the grocery entrance and talked to him as the man shopped. The victim said when he left the man was still following him.
Howey told police as he was getting ready to leave the man jumped in his car, pulled a gun and demanded money. He forced Howey to drive to the Five Points Mini Mart, and as they approached the intersection of Broad & 1st streets, the man jumped from the vehicle.
The gunman is described as a black man in his early 30's, around 5'8" tall, with a thin build. He has short hair worn in dreadlocks, medium complextion and a tattoo on his right hand. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
