Carteret County Narcotics Detectives stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in Newport.

The driver of the car was identified as fugitive Derek Frazier. Frazier fled on foot -- and escaped

Authorities did catch the two other men in the car -- Corey Singletary of Morehead City And Kenneth Anderson of Miami, Florida.

After a search of the car, authorities say they found 156 grams of separately packaged marijuana, 44 grams of crack cocaine and 22 ecstasy pills with a combined street value of 7 thousand dollars.

Both were charged with several drug offenses including trafficking in cocaine and are in jail under a $200,000 bond

They don't set bail. They have a hard job. I think most do the best job they can. Some are jerks. No doubt. My favorite is when they scream at you while giving you a ticket. Wow, one is enough. Or ask you if you know why they stopped you? That is a classic stupid question cause obviously he does. I always say, "nope, but I bet your gonna tell me!" Give them a break. They have a job most would not want. They don't get paid enough to do what they do. How about a little more credit and a little less smack. They catch way too much crap from people. Keep up the good work CC cops. I know who Im gonna call if I need some help. Smith and Wesson! Just kidding. Love ya'll and appreciate you...when Im not getting a ticket.

I agree 100%. Double Standard Indeed!!! But this is the justice system that we should believe in. Justice should be taken out of the name. It should just be called the system because there is no justice in it at all.
