Sheriff Dan Gibbs says a man and a woman forced their way into the home, robbed and then assaulted Lynwood Williams.

Gibbs says Williams was hit on the back of the head with a weapon. He was transported to a hospital in Tarboro and is expected to be okay.

I agree Suzanne. The Deputies and the Sheriffs of this state do a GREAT job. That,s why I,m a member of the NCSA and give as often as I can. God knows they need all the help they can get to fight whats going on in this state.

One more thing Mike....those are a great bunch of guys that have done a great job since Dan has been in Office....whether you like it or not. The fact is....IT IS WHAT IT IS, and an arrest was made. All I can say for you is you have to be a real LOSER to be so unappreciative of what these Deputies do.

Had this been my house the headline would have read "Home invasion sends two to the funeral home" I am an honest tax paying law biding citizen. I have every right to protect myself and my family against criminals and this I will. So come by the house some time criminals the last thing your going to hear is Get-er-Done!!!

I went to high school and play footbal with Lynwood. I am glad these individuals were caught, just to bad lynwood couldnt get to his weapon and took care of the threat with extreme prejudices. He could have save the state of North Carolina some money. Good job MCSO, also I was once employ with Martin County Sheriff Office. Great Job guys.
