Last month Halifax County Sheriff's Deputies investigated a case of Stolen Pitt Bull puppies.
Saturday deputies announced they have arrested two people in regards to the stolen pups.
Deputies arrested James Sparkman of Rocky Mount and Steven Reid of Hollister.
Three of the four pups had been recovered and returned to the owner. The men have been charged with felony possession of stolen goods and were given a $2000 dollar bond.

On August 29, 2009 Deputy Curtis Hawkins of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office started investigating a case where four Pitt bull puppies were stolen from the Dove Lane area in Hollister. After following up on several leads Deputy Hawkins found that James Tyree Sparkman (21 year, black male, from Rocky Mount) and Steven Tywan Reid ( 23 year old, Indian male from Hollister) sold one the stolen Pitt Bulls for sixty five dollars and they were still in possession of two of the stolen dogs. Deputy Hawkins was able to recover three of the four stolen Pitt Bulls and returned them to the owner. Deputy Hawkins charged and arrested both Sparkman and Reid with felony possession of stolen goods. They were give a $2000.00 bond and their court date is set for October 27, 2009. This case is still under investigation.
