Former Chamber Director Due In Court

The former director of a local chamber of commerce is due in court Tuesday, accused of embezzling money.

Jennifer Barr of Cooper St. in Winterville is charged with embezzlement during her time as executive director of the Ayden Chamber of Commerce.

A grand jury in Pitt County indicted Barr in July. She's accused of taking about $10,000 between May and December of 2008.

    well i'll be,one offical stealing money another gets drunk at ball game and assuats cop ain't these people proud.The people of ayden put these people charge,what no back ground checks,public officals way to go!!!!$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$it's all about the money and the youth are surpose to look up to these people,good job ayden.

    Will my utilities go down now?? I have lived in Ayden for over a year and it is by far one of the worst cities/towns I have lived in. I have had my house on the market now for a while to try and get out. They over charge for utilities and the service people are just RUDE.
