North Carolina Cabbie Says He Killed Teen In Robbery Attempt

Authorities say a North Carolina cab driver has shot and killed a teen in what the driver says was a robbery attempt in southwest Charlotte.

Multiple media outlets reported that 17-year-old Renaldo Smith died shortly after the shooting around 10 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators say the cab driver told them the teen pulled out a gun shortly after he picked him up after being called to an apartment complex.

Authorities say the driver was able to get his own gun and shoot the teen. The driver was not injured and called 911.

Police have not released the cab driver's name and continue to investigate the shooting.

Sharon, did you not read the whole story carefully? The suspect also had a gun in his possession. There was 1 bad guy, 1 good guy, and TWO guns involved. The cab driver was forced into a "Kill or Be Killed" situation. I praise the cabbie for what he did because I too would have done the same thing.

To all of the "bleeding heart liberals" up here. Sorry the good guy won this one! I would have done the same thing and had no remorse. Fight or Flight. Good one Cabbie. I bet his homies will not try this one. Peace Out!

Sharon, did you not read the story? I guess not. The punk suspect also had a gun. He pulled it out on the cabbie first! The cabbie thankfully shot and killed the suspect. When there's 1 bad guy, 1 good guy and TWO guns involved; it's either Kill or Be Killed. The cabbie did the right thing, so knock it off with the "God will judge" crap.

Wow all you people care about is money. Why didn't the cabbie hold the gun to him, and wait for the cops. So is it alright for us all to just start killing people who have a gun. If so that said its ok to be GOD judge, and jury.
