Greenville Stabbing, One Injured

A Greenville man was hospitalized after getting stabbed last night.

Police tell us Keyonta Powell was at his residence on Pine Street when he says Myra Peterson and Dwayne Young walked by. That’s when a verbal argument broke out and Powell says Peterson walked up to him and stabbed him in the neck area, then took off with Young. Peterson has been charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and is being held in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $13,000.00 secured bond.

Young was also arrested and charged with Assault on a female and Breaking or Entering regarding a previous incident with Keyonta Powell and his girlfriend and is being held at the Pitt County Detention Center under a $3,000.00 secured bond.

Keyonta Powell was transported to PCMH with a severe cut to the neck area, his condition is unknown.

The chief lives in a WalGreen World. Crime isn't as serious as it seems in his WalGreen World.

Not to worry the chief of police said it isn't as bad as it seems. Wonder if the guy that got stabbed feels that way?
