A five month old child is in critical condition and police are investigating it as possible child abuse.
Rocky Mount police were called to a home Thursday afternoon on Springfield Road. The baby boy was examined at Nash General where it was determined he received blunt force trauma to the head. The baby was transferred to Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Police say they are continuing to investigate the case and no one has been charged yet.
