Teens Charged After Gun Goes Off In School Parking Lot

Three teens are under arrest after deputies say they were playing with a B.B. gun on school grounds when it went off.

Wayne County deputies say they were originally told that Dehamoney Murchison was shot in the parking lot at Eastern Wayne High School on August 8th when people pulled up in a car and fired a B.B. gun at a group of students.

Deputies say it turns out one student brought the gun to school and it went off when they were playing around with the weapon.

Murchinson has been charged with filing a false police report, while Christopher Hines and Calvin Darnell are charged with possession of weapon on education property.

... the boys are expected to be in school by the first bell Tuesday morning. The principal expects the boys to AIM high in their academics this year. This accident should not adversely affect the boys who are described in their community as being courteous, helpful, friendly and kind and would never knowingly do anything wrong. In a related story Dehamoney Murchison is favored for a scholarship into the NC Penal University where he will meet Bubba who likes to mentor young boys.

Since school is back in session in Eastern NC, this will be an all too common story.

This time it was a BB gun, next time I'll bet it's a real gun. Get him now before he does bring a real one to school. He will, it's just a matter of time.
