UPDATE: Driver In Pawn Shop Shooting Arrested

Another suspect is in custody following the shoot out inside a local pawn shop Thursday night.

The Pitt County Sheriff's Office says 20 year-old Augustus Reynolds of Greenville was arrested late Friday.

Authorities say he was the driver of the car involved in the robbery at Jolly's Pawn Shop.

Two others, 18 year-old James Jones of Winterville and 20 year-old Willie Beale of Greenville are also in custody.

Authorities are still looking for 21 year-old Devontra Tyson.


There's new information on Thursday night's robbery and shooting at a Pitt County pawn shop.

Deputies have charged two men with the attempted robbery at Jolly's Pawn and are looking for a third. James Jones, 18 of Winterville, and Willie Beale, 20, of Greenville are both in custody. Deputies are still looking for Devontra Tyson, 21 of Greenville.

Authorities say the trio came into the pawn shop at 6:00 p.m. and attempted to rob the business. One of the men fired shots in the store and the owner returned fire. Chief James Tripp says as the gunmen were running away one of their guns went off, striking Jones in the upper body.

Jones was treated at Pitt County Memorial Hospital and now both he and Tyson are in jail under $25,000 secured bonds.

The Pitt County Sheriffs Office shut down an intersection in Greenville Thursday, as a SWAT team and K-9 units converged at the scene.

It happened at the intersection of North Greene & Church Streets where there were reports of a shooting. Police, with guns drawn, surrounded a warehouse at that intersection. It has since been reopened.

Deputies say three armed suspects went into the Jolly Pawn Shop on Greene Street and fired shots demanding money. Three employees were inside at the time, one of them fired back shooting one of the suspects in the upper chest.

None of the employees were hit by the bullets.

Police say two suspects are in custody, and they are searching for a third. One of those suspects is in the hospital with a gunshot wound. The other is being interviewed.

Authorities they're looking for a 4th suspect who took off in a small grey car.

Right now police have suspended the manhunt for the time being.
