Polygamous Sect Leader Being Force-Fed In Jail

A letter from a doctor says polygamous sect leader Warren Jeffs is being force-fed in an Arizona jail to prevent the possibility of "imminent death."

In a letter filed with the Mohave County Superior Court on Monday, county jail Medical Director Kirsten Mortenson told a judge that Jeffs has been refusing to eat and is no longer urinating.

She says Jeffs's vital signs are worsening and he is suffering from malnutrition.

Mortenson says the jail, which is in Kingman, began force-feeding Jeffs on Friday and will continue monitoring him until his condition improves.

Jeffs is the head of the Utah-based Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is jailed awaiting trial on charges related to alleged underage marriages involving sect girls.

FORCE FED?!?!?!!! There are people who will gladly and willingly eat the food you are wasting on this idiot. Just shows the coddling nature of our prisons, making a grown up eat. Prison is a bad place , not mommy and daddy making you eat your vegetables. Just pick up the body and let him be shark food when he dies. I work WAY too #$@$% hard to have my tax money try to make him eat. I wonder if they use "here comes the airplane... open the hangar" with the spoon.

I agree, why even bother? If he wants to kill himself and save the tax payers loads of money he should be granted his wish! I mean they get every other wish they have in prison, might as well get this one too!

I agree with Derek. Let him die. If he wants to starve himself, the perhaps we should seize the opportunity & save some of our hard earned tax dollars!!
