Police Say Man Responsible For 61 Car Break-Ins

Police say they have solved dozens of vehicle break-ins that have plagued Greenville neighborhoods for six months.

Travis Payton is facing more than 124 charges relating to 61 cases of vehicles being broken into since January.

Police say they nabbed Payton last week in the parking lot of Gold's Gym after a surveillance unit spotted him looking into various vehicles. An investigation tied Payton to the string of break-ins.

The 21-year-old Payton's bond is set at $100,000 and police say they continue to investigate him for possible other criminal activities.

If found guilty, I pray to God that he is executed. It's just a shame that they won't televise it.

Oh I am sorry excuse me you receive your job from being a brown noser. Oh that is so much better. And by the way WITN posts alot of racist comments and yours is one of them. How do you know this man does not have a job? As you can see from our congressmen, mayors, and etc people with good job still find away to steal money.

Please. Thanks for judging a book by its cover. I am a black male. I am amazed that WITN let you post that racist comment. By the way you should check your own grammar. Or did you get a job for being white. I believe thats how you should word it.

I bet he thinks Obama will save him. If it was up to me, This payton kid would be hung. The court system has got weak. If a person breaks the law there should not be a min.-max sentence. No plea bargins, no if's and's or but's! Throw the book everytime and ppl might think twice.

I agree with Lucky Location: Gville, there is no reason we're paying contractors to mow grass on our highways. All the prisoners should be out there with swing blades year round. Have the officers with riot shotguns just daring them to run. Why should prisoners be laid up everyday, no responsiblitys, working out, getting law degrees. The state would NEVER pay for my kids college to get a law degree, but if you commit a crime... health care, room & board, meals, ect everything is FREE.
