21 Year Old Arrested In Connection To Kinston Kidnapping

Another suspect has been arrested in connection to the kidnapping of a Kinston man.

The latest arrest was 21 year old Victor Speller. Authorities say he was spotted by an officer on Saturday and taken into custody.

Police say on July 16th, Donnie Coward was discovered naked and beaten near the intersection of Faulkner Road and Indigo Lane. He told authorities five people broke into his home and beat him up, kidnapped him, then drove him out into the country where he managed to escape.

Coward said the men accused him of owing them money.

it doesn't matter what he has done, while he should be lock up for his crime is true, but it still gives no one the right to break into his home and drag him out and leave him naked on side the road. whether he is a saint or not doesn't matter if he hadn't escaped he might have been killed, i'm sure you are no saint yourself but you don't want someone committing a crime against you for your past faults

According to the North Carolina Department of Corrections Mr. Coward is no saint himself. He has been convicted of common law robbery and has twice been convicted of manslaughter. (The manslaughter charge was likely a murder charge that was reduced on a plea deal.) He is also a convicted habitual felon. Why he is out of prison now is anyones guess. Now this burden of society has five others in jail for crimes against himself. I find it hard to feel sorry for a "victim" who has committed crimes much worse to others and is now crying foul.
