Families Of Victims Want Justice

The families and friends of women murdered or still missing in Eastern Carolina say they need more help fighting for justice.

The bodies of six women have been found in the woods in Edgecombe County over the past four years. One body has yet to be identified.

The families of those victims, along with three women are missing in that area, formed a group called M.O.M.S., which stands for Missing Or Murdered Sisters.

They held a fish fry in Rocky Mount to raise money to buy a billboard to bring more attention to the case.

A candlelight vigil for the victims was held Sunday night.

Some say the murders are the work of a serial killer. Edgecombe County Sheriff James Knight is not saying whether the crimes may be connected. He said there is a task force investigating the murders.
