One county in the east needs your help in adopting several pets seized in an animal hoarding case.

Nearly 50 animals were taken from the Bertie County Home of Stephen Kyprianides in May.

He's facing 36 misdemeanor animal cruelty charges in Bertie County.

Lawmen say they seized 46 dogs and three cats from the 68-year-old's home in May, when officials found lethal ammonia levels.

Animal control officials only have a few puppy runs where they can keep dogs and they've run out of space.

They have been turning away dogs for several weeks.

Officials with the Roanoke Chowan Humane Society are waiving the adoption fee trying to unload the dogs to loving homes.
