A local animal rescue worker has filed a lawsuit against a woman charged with child abuse.
Courtney Kendzierski, who operates Noah's Ark K9 Rescue, is suing Rachel Ceaser for breach of contract. She claims Ceaser allowed three foster puppies to die of heat exhaustion last month.
Ceaser was charged July First by the Onslow County Sheriff's Office with misdemeanor child abuse for "allowing seven dogs to live in the same area as two children," according to warrants. That area was strewn with garbage and animal feces.
Ceasar's bond was set at $4,000.
Kendzierski said when she went to Ceaser's house she discovered two small children who were naked with animal feces smeared on their bodies.
