Emergency Response Team Deploys For Second Time

For the second time Wednesday Greenville's emergency response team was called out.

The latest happened around 2:30 p.m. at Creekside Apartments on Wandsworth Drive.

Police say there was a brief hostage situation with a man wanted for an earlier fight on Watauga Avenue. Officers were told the man was armed with a gun.

The man, according to police, barricaded himself in an acquaintance's apartment with her two children.

Police say the situation was resolved in about 45 minutes with the man surrendering with no shots being fired.

Charges are pending against the man.

Several hours earlier the team responded to Brownlea Drive for a standoff with an armed man. That situation also ended peacefully.

MrT: Now that comment was the funniest one I have read today. It's becoming absurd that the only thing on the local channels and newspapers are thugs.

Sometimes i think if the media wouldn't show pictures and release names of these crazy people, it wouldn't be as bad. I think it gives them the attention they want. It's almost like they become a star.

Glad I don't live in Greenville, parents remember to discipline kids when young so they respect their lives and other individuals when they get older. PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!

In every country that has tried it sooner or later socialism (social programs) produce a animosity and hatred of everything and a lack of concern for others and life in general. When people are provided with everything they develop no sense of responsibility. Combine this with massive unemployment after they were promised the latest round of social programs would make everything better.
