UPDATE: SC Cops Say Serial Killer Suspect Slain In NC

Law enforcement officials have identified the man they think is the serial killer who shot five people to death in South Carolina in recent days.

Authorities identified the suspect Monday night as 41-year-old
Patrick Tracy Burris.

They say Burris was a felon with a lengthy record who was paroled in April after seven years in prison.

They say bullets in the gun found on Burris after he was killed by police in Gastonia, N.C., matched those used to kill residents in and around Gaffney some 30 miles away.

Authorities did not immediately say where Burris was from.

ORIGINAL STORY:

South Carolina law enforcement officials say a burglary suspect slain in North Carolina is the serial killer who shot five people to death in South Carolina in recent days.

State Law Enforcement Deputy Director Neil Dolan says ballistics
of the gun and bullets found on the man Monday in Gastonia, N.C.,
match those used to kill residents in and around Gaffney, S.C.,
some 30 miles away.

He says authorities want to put the community at rest. Dolan tells The Associated Press, "We have him. He's our serial killer."

Authorities have not released the slain man's name. They found
him when they responded to a possible burglary at a vacant house in
Gastonia. They say he gave a fake name and pulled a gun.

Crime is just like cancer. It doesn't matter what race, religion, sex, height, etc. a person is. If someone is guilty of a crime, and this guy was guilty of breaking into a home to start out with, then they should receive the consequences for the crime. It wasn't until they identified him that they realized he was the serial killer. The color of his skin has nothing to do with the poor choices he made, and now I bet he wishes he made at least one better choice, and that is Jesus as his saviour! If only he could say something now...prayers and support to the families he attacked.

If it is determined that the State of NC released this thug on society to save a dollar then heads need to roll at The Parole Commission.

No Lavon, it isn't his fault. He needed someone to come into his community when he was growing up and raise him for his deadbeat mom. Surely his father left him at a young age and this along with his environment made him what he his. Don't say that Lavon, you need to stop hiding behind your computer and go into their communities to help them and make a difference!

I think I posted this on the wrong story, so I'll say it again. In the police drawing he looks white. In the photo I can't tell if he's black or white...so there you have it...a thug is a thug no matter what color you are.
