Four people are wanted for holding up a Rocky Mount man at gunpoint and then shooting him.

It happened just before 3:00 this morning on the 700 block of Gay Street in Rocky Mount. Officers say the suspects approached the victim and pointed a handgun at him. The victim was shot in the leg trying to escape. The victim had non life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the men, believed to be in their late teens or early 20's, left the scene operating a gray, older model car- possibly a Honda or Toyota, with damage on the driver's side, with two other people inside.
