Wednesday morning marked the end of the La Grange Police Department and the first day of business for the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office.

Many Lenoir County Sheriffs Deputies got to the new sub station bright and early Wednesday morning.

Four La Grange Police Officers have been sworn in and will continue to serve the people there.

But some locals still expressed concern about losing people they have come to depend on.

A spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office says it will provide the same level of care and now have more resources that will be at the disposal of deputies there.

We shall see. I live in a small down east town that can't afford it's own police. We are covered by a local Sheriff's Department. It doesn't work. Outside of an occasional speedtrap, nothing much gets done. I wish the fine people of Lagrange well.

Good luck Jerry Davis and fellow officers. At least you can do your job without that back stabing John Craft in your business. I worked in LaGrange for 3 years before finding out John Craft was getting rid of us. Thanks John hope you get fired for all the stupid things you've done to La Grange!!!
