Man Shot During Daylight Holdup

Police say shots were fired during a daylight holdup, injuring the man who was being robbed.

Jacksonville police say Daquaves Humphrey is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault inflicting serious bodily injury.

Takashi Taylor told police when he went to a home on Eastwood Drive Tuesday afternoon to meet a friend. Police say the man was approached by the 16-year-old Humphrey who was holding a handgun and demanding money.

Police say Taylor was shot in the arm as he tried to run from the gunman. The victim was treated at Onslow Memorial Hospital.

Humphrey was placed in jail on a $50,000 bond.
