Bomb Threat Called Into Carteret County Courthouse

A bomb threat Wednesday morning forced an evacuation at the Carteret County Courthouse, and authorities need your help to find the person who phoned it in.

Dispatchers at the 911 center told courthouse officials about the threat at 8:44 a.m. Wednesday.

The Marines brought in their explosive team, which searched the building with dogs. The team did not find anything suspicious or dangerous.

The threat was made from a pay phone at the In and Out Express convenient store parking lot, which is across from East Carteret High School.

If you saw anyone near the phone booth right before 9 a.m. Wednesday, you're asked to call police.

Yet again, a grammatical error for the ages. "Your asked to call police" should be "You're asked to call police." If WITN is hiring for a proofreader, let me know.

I can just imagine someone waking up that morning saying "Oh, crap! I'm late for my court date! What am I gonna do???" LOL. This is one of the reasons our jails and prisons are overcrowded.
