Man Charged With Attempted Statutory Rape Of 15-Year-Old

A disturbing story from Wayne County, deputies say a man tried to rape a teenager after befriending her through phone calls and text messages.

Linwood Nicholson, Jr. of Goldsboro is charged with attempted statutory rape.

Deputies say the 26-year-old Nicholson even took the 15-year-old girl to school on two occasions, without her parents' knowledge.

Nicholson is in jail on a $50,000 secured bond. Deputies say the girl's parents were not aware of the man's relationship with their daughter.

I saw and read this article and I could not and still do not believe what i read I have been knowing this person for years and can not blieve he did or capable of doing such a thing that he is suppose to be charged with and I know there are others who also know him or have met him would agree with me that this person did not or was not capable of doing such a thing I am sure who ever the person is accusing him (she or the parents)of doing this is probably with child or is expecting and needs a father figure and wants someone just to take care of the child. Plus too how can this person or the dupties accuse and charge this person of rape with only evidence of texting or phone calls Iam sure alot of people text and make phone calls but still that is not grounds to charge someone of rape I would think you would need more proof in that case I and everyone else should not text or talk on cells phone may also be charged with something so what ever evidence the dupties have got to be FALSE.

It's not a matter of desperation; it's all about power and control. It's basic psychology, but sick either way! When I was a teenager, my parents were VERY lenient, but they ALWAYS knew who I was with and where I was. This girl got lucky...unlike many other naive children

Parents, please know where your children are at and what kind of friends they have. Thank goodness nothing worse happened to that little death.
