A man is charged with kicking in the back door of a Jacksonville home and stealing a woman's purse.
It happened on June 4 about 10:45 p.m. at a home on Twinwood Drive.
Authorities say they were working on an unrelated investigation when they set up surveillance on 22-year-old Michael Davis of Jacksonville.
They had received word that Davis was wanted on several outstanding felony breaking and entering warrants from the Onslow County Sheriff's Office.
A short time after setting up surveillance, officers say they conducted a traffic stop and apprehended Davis. They say during the traffic stop, stolen property was located in the vehicle that had been identified from the breaking and entering on Twinwood Drive. They say Davis had also used a stolen credit card from the Twinwood Drive breaking and
entering at a local convenience store.
Davis, of Coleman Drive in Jacksonville, has been charged with one count of felony breaking and entering, one count of stolen possession of stolen property, one court of felony larceny and once count of obtaining property by false pretense. His bond was set at $10,000.
