Update On Martin County Shootings

One week ago a Greenville man was fatally shot while walking down the street in his hometown. His murder marked the second shooting in Martin County within seven days.

The investigation into the murder of 21 year old Curtis Sheppard in Robersonville continues with no arrests in the case. We're told by officers that they're following leads and hope to resolve this case as soon as possible.

Martin County sheriff's detectives are also hoping to arrest the suspect in the murder and attempted murder of two teens on May 23rd. Authorities tells us it was a gang related incident. Sheriff Dan Gibbs says, "We're still investigating it at this time and we're running down leads and people are, I think, afraid to talk to our investigators at this time."

Neo the more I read from you the more amazed I am at how you can take a fact or statement and completly not understand it, twist it all around and end up with anything but the truth! Guess it comes from years of practice. I in no way said or suggested anything about alcoholics in MC..I can understand how you missed the point of people not being able to recognize the real problem so how in the heck can we expect them to be a part of the solution. I've come to believe you really don't want a solution. I think you want MC to fail! That's why you display a disagreeing almost combative attitude and dialogue when you here negative things from Pitt and Beaufort Co..Almost like "hey noway you're as bad as we are"! Since you seem to be the self-appointed spokesperson for all hard working, tax paying MC citizens, maybe you should use your influence more positively...wonder why all the "good folks" leaving MC?, yo think they'd choose higher crime over ignorance? Makes you think, hopefully!!

Concerned ex-MC guy, the hard working, tax paying citizens have written these areas off. Millions of dollars have been dumped into the neighborhoods that you pout for through hundreds of government programs. All that accomplished was encouraging them to have more children for the taxpayers to support. It's hopeless, some people are beyond help. Under the current rules, we can only continue to feed, cloth, house, provide entertainment, healthcare, transportation and every other necessity and nicety of life. Thank you for recognizing that there are alot of alcoholics as well as drug addicts in these neighborhoods. You may want to get over to Greenville. Apparently there are a couple of shooter thugs over there that may need to cry on your shoulder and play the victim of society role on you.

Neo- I fully expected you wouldn't recognize hatred or hateful insensitive attitude to begin with. Since you like cute analogies, must alcohohlics won't admit to a drinking problem either! Your point about demographics, low poverty, low ambition, uneducatable workforce might be valid, but what are the hard working, tax paying law abiding citizens doing to correct the PROBLEM? History suggest and my Psyc 101 prof stated, reference problem solving-you're either part of the solution or part of the problem! I'm pretty sure where you fall. Hopefully the other tax paying law abiding citizens will soon come to their senses and try something positive for a change! As for uneducatable workforce-guess you mean show them something factual & true and they retain it right? OK, I am not nor have I ever been ex-MC employee!!?? Now repeat 3 times.."Roberson st, always hopeless" I doubt that. Most statements following "always" "everyone" "never" "all" etc usually lack fact to support.

It is not a hatred Concerned ex-MC employee guy, just a firm grasp on reality. I realize a scorpion will sting because it is in his nature, he can't help it. I still refer to the culturally flawed rural slums because they still exist, nothing has happened to alter them. Not everyone in MC is a "scum-bag looser" as you put it, although some are looser than others. Some of us have not participated in the mass migration out of the county but it is getting harder to hang on. The county is not having trouble prospering because of hard working, tax paying, law abiding citizens like me, CexMCguy. It is those that you pout for, who commit the crime, draw the welfare dime and cry for sympathy all the time, who cause investors and prospective businesses to ignore this county. Bad demographics they call it, lots of poverty, little ambition, uneducatable workforce, you name it, we got it. I've lost nothing on Roberson St, not even hope, it's always been hopeless. It's a mess for you to cry over.

Neo-Neo-Neo What to do with you? I did hear about the latest shooting and yes drasticly unlike you it concerns me. If anyone is going to show any empathy it will have to be someone other than you, its not in you. I am beginning to see just how tranparent you really are. Your hatred runs deep. You go out of your way to put people down-referring to them as "flakey weirdos of the flakey people" and still referring to "blighted culturally flawed rural slums of central and western MC". You just don't care how idiotic your comments sound or to whom you say them do you? You don't care if they hurt others or not! You don't care if anywhere remotely truthful! Sounds like everyone in MC is a scum-bag looser except for you, but you don't care! As long as you get to spread your hateful agenda and put people down, you don't care! The bottom line is just that...you don't care. And people wonder why MC can't prosper?? BTW bet they would rather see you down around Roberson St, you encourage all so.

Neo--Must have been important to you, you were the one to start saying I was an ex-MC employee run out of town on a rail! Seems to prove my point, facts are not important to you, just making statements is. Your comment about taxpayers giving everything away I thought was quite interesting seeing as after researching a little it seems the same board of commissioners has (or at least the majority) have been serving for some time now. Seems some aged out or decided not to run for reelection. So I guess you didn't vote for all these "give-away mush headed leftists, right? See I'm trying to help you turn over a new leaf and devote some energy towards positive things for MC. What makes you think I have problems? Do you honestly feel you have to put everyone down to make you feel so all fired high and mighty. Come on, get real. You could probably be an all right guy in some situations if you'd just ease up and let yourself! Might help you and All MC from the distain you show... Try it!

Concerned ex-MC guy, I'm sure you have seen the article about the latest shooting in Williamston. Why don't you go to that street, tell the people that are hanging out tonight that you feel sorry for them and accept the blame for all of their hardships. Take some other smiling apologists with you and see if the thugs will have a love in with you. I am right because reality is reality and that's what gets under your skin. Lefties want things to fit their utopian dreams and become frazzeled when they don't. I have no worry that you will actually go there and be hurt. Deep down you know you wouldn't last five minutes without losing your wallet, your pride and maybe more. Again, deny it and make me laugh again. I really enjoy humor. As for me, I will sit peacefully on my deck until late tonight in my neighborhood that is not one of the culturally flawed rural slums of Martin County.

Concerned ex-MC guy, employee or whatever, your status as an ex is not important to me. I have also come to a point where I do not care about your disdain for those of us in the county who obey the law, support our current law enforcement officers and do not feel guilt because others in the county make their own neighborhoods a misery to live in. Their problems are their own making and apparently so are yours. The taxpayers have given away free rent, food, education, electricity, cable, medical care, transportation and every conceivable free outreach program the mush headed leftists could think of to these people. We have done nothing but create a bunch of irresponsible, ungrateful dependents for the rest of society to keep up, tolerate and be victimized by. Your support is hilarious considering the fact that if you found yourself in distress after dark in one of the areas that you pout for, you wouldn't have your money, pride or perhaps more within a minutes. Deny it, I'll laugh again.

Neo...I know it's difficult for you to accept facts, especially ones you don't personally agree with, but read real closely now..I'm not nor have I ever been an MC employee. If you are sincere about helping less fortunite, then you should be more interested in all areas of MC and stop putting some down as "culturally flawed rural slums" and referring to people as "subcultures". Has nothing to do with being PC, just plain and simple RESPECTFUL. As far as Neo meaning new and recent, nothing you profess is either new or recent. It's old, same crap different day thats been coming out of a few hardheads who live just to keep things stirred up. Give it a break and do something good for MC for a change. Stop being the retaliator and focus some of your energy towards a positive solution instead of trying to keep living 50-60 years in the past. You know I'm right and that's what gets under your skin so.

Concerned ex-MC employee guy. I do not need your tolerance. I am bold and don't care about your attempts to make me feel ashamed of truth with your only weapon, political correctness. My fight is to save others with less fortitude from your bovine droppings. You occupy the fantasy world and apparently watch too many movies. Neo means new and recent. Ex-MC means old socialist has been. I play no video games and have applied all the logic possible to your nonsense about welfare programs, saps, shame and sadness. All they tell me is, all those things are about you. Do a Gomer Pyle, put a bucket on your head and just think and think. Maybe you'll figure it out.
