Convenience Store Armed Robbery

An armed robber is on the run after holding up a convenience store Tuesday night.

Rocky Mount police say it occurred at the Trade Wilco Hess at 3550 Sunset Avenue around 10:30 p.m.

The clerk told police a man came into the store, showed her a black handgun that was in his waist band and demanded money. The woman gave him the cash in the drawer and the robber ran away in an unknown direction.

Police say a K-9 unit was brought to the scene but they were unable to locate any suspects.

wilco is always getting robbed. I've worked at this store and I had to close up by myself and i can say from experience they don't care about your safety. All they care about is the money in your drawer better not be more than $100.

I bet she was working by herself. What would the manager do if she had been shot and killed? Say oh, sorry. Put at least two in the store. Or let the manager, owner work nights by themselves. Bet that would change their minds.
