Doughnut Shop Robbery Suspect Nabbed As Cops Respond To Call

It did take long for cops to nab a suspect who they say held up a doughnut shop in Greenville.

It happened early Thursday morning at the Krispy Kreme on East 10th Street.

Responding officers stopped a person fitting the robber's description walking down 12th Street.

Police have charged Eddie McCracken, Jr. with armed robbery and possession of a crack pipe.

Authorities say McCracken came into the doughnut shop and placed an order. He then placed his hand under his shirt and pointed what employees believed was a gun and demanded money.

The 45-year-old McCracken is in the Pitt County jail on a $50,000 secured bond.

Thanks again for getting the story wrong! East Carolina University Police actually caught the guy. A GPD officer actually pulled up after the incident and said, "What's going on?" Either WITN has it out for ECU or Greenville PD wants to take all the glory as usual.

I guess they saw the guy with "glazed" eyes, then arrested him. They could have been "cruller", but they didn't want any lawsuits. Finding the crack pipe was just "icing" on the cake.

Is it remotely possible that a cop wouldn't be able to apprehend a d-shop robber? Think about it. In all fairness; every Greenville police officer I've dealt with was very professional. Their job is getting more dangerous everyday. Prayers for them all. Good job.

The one that got him was the cop sitting over at Sheets watching the parking lot. It takes a lot of sense to rob the doughnut capital of Greenville especially when the cops are arriving in strength to get that cup of coffee and doughnut. Duh!!!

Since all of you only asked for jokes and failed to provide one, I'll step up to the plate. I wonder if the doughnuts he stole were "powdered." No wait, he probably ordered "glazed."
