Shooting In Georgia, One Jacksonville Man Dead

A shooting in Georgia has injured several people and killed one man from Eastern Carolina.

The victim has been identified by authorities as 34 year old Howard Jones of Jacksonville, he was found shot dead in a car on Monday. At least three other people were injured in the shooting

According to Gwinnett County Police Department they were responding to a shooting call at 4299 Buckingham Place in unincorporated Duluth, which is an area of Gwinnett County. When officers arrived they found three Hispanic male victims that suffered gunshot wounds. They were transported to area hospitals. Shortly afterwards, another person called 911 stating a male was found shot inside of a vehicle parked in front of a retail store at Gwinnett Place Mall, located at 2100 Pleasant Hill Road in unincorporated Duluth.

Authorities tell WITN a preliminary investigation indicated three Hispanic males were shot inside the residence. The fourth shooting victim, Howard Jones, went to Gwinnett Place Mall with another man. Jones was found by officials deceased inside the vehicle. The other male got out of the car and was later found by officers. He is currently in police custody. It is unknown at this time if the deceased male drove himself to Gwinnett Place Mall or if he was a passenger.

Investigators also have a Hispanic male in custody that was present during the shooting. He is currently undergoing questioning.

There are several indicators and evidence found at the scene that lead investigators to believe that this shooting is drug related. The exact circumstances and motive behind this shooting is still under investigation.
