Waffle House Waitress Arrested For Shooting Customer

MANNING, S.C. (AP) -- A South Carolina restaurant employee has been arrested and accused of shooting a customer who complained about the service.

The Clarendon County Sheriff's Office says 29-year-old Yakeisha Ward of Manning is charged with assault and battery within intent to kill.

Deputies say Ward worked at a Waffle House restaurant in Manning and was involved in a fight about 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Lt. Tommy Burgess says the fight started when the customer complained about the quality of service in the crowded restaurant.

Burgess says Ward went to her van to get a gun. He says a 27-year-old woman Crystal Samuel was hit in the arm when Ward fired as those trying to break up the fight pointed the gun to the ground and a bullet ricocheted.

"I thought I was gonna get me an All-Star," Samuel told WLTX-TV. A popular meal on the menu. "Grits, sausage, toast, eggs and a waffle,"

It was unclear if Ward had an attorney.

What kind of person would go into a crowded Waffle House at 4am and expect exceptional service? It's sad that she got shot. But I have some advice for you restaurant-goers: It's not a good idea to complain about the people that are handling your food. I worked in a restaurant and witnessed some crazy things that go on.

Leo and Sam, I was a restaurant manager and district manager for years. Sometimes I thought there should be a background check on customers to see if they were arrogant, self-righteous, hypocritical, between the cheeks body parts before seating them in my restaurant. Alas I had to be open minded and serve them just as we served others who understood that everybody needs an opportunity to work, even if they have a record. If you hypocrits don't let them have a job somewhere they will work on stealing your new lawn tractor or work on breaking in to your home to steal or work on your noggin and take your money. If you give them no way to make a living they will not starve, they will take from you. If you back anybody into a corner you are apt to get bit. Don't put a criminal record on them, turn them loose with a pat on the back and instructions to go lead an honest life and then demand that nobody hire them. How stupid are you?

does anyone wonder if it was more than just a complaint?? Like if it was someone she knew and already didn't like them? I don't know the person I was just thinking about that because that seems a little overboard for just a compkaint??
