Cops Say Suspected Child Porn Found In Teacher's Home

A teacher has been arrested after police say they found suspected child porn at his home.

Paul Shepard is charged with one count of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Shepard teaches exceptional children at Jamesville High School.

Police say on Wednesday they were made aware that child porn may be located at the man's home in Williamston. After a search warrant on the home on North Haughton Street, items seized were presented to the district attorney.

Shepard was arrested Friday and placed in jail on a $50,000 bond. If released, the magistrate ordered Shepard not be in the presence of a person under the age of 18.

Police say this case is still in the beginning stages and urge anyone with information on exploitation of children to contact Williamston police.

all of the people bringing up consolidation are crazy and ignorant!!! you probably are from Williamston. If this happened to Williamston or Roanoke this would not be such a big deal!!!! Everyone who brung up consolidation would be agreeing with the Jamesville people saying that it is just ONE TEACHER and NOT THE WHOLE SCHOOL!!! So think if this happened at YOUR or YOUR CHILD'S school. <:(

I'll just repeat what was said earlier for those who may have missed it. Background checks are performed. However, if an individual has never been arrested/charged/ tried, etc- nothing shows up. Juvenile records are sealed. This is not the fault of any Martin County school personnel and should not be laid at their door. Use your energy to help if you can.

it is not our fault THE SCHOOL BOARD hires people like him. if anyone is to be blamed it's the ones trying to shut us down for lack of a background check!

So sad people stoop so low.... how in the world can an adult look at a child in a sexual way. This is as sick as a person can get. It is not acceptable in our society. Why doesn't our judicial system make an example of these people??? I just don't understand them. It just makes me wonder..... do they have gay tendencies, if they do, some people think this is perfectly okay..... JUST LEAVE THE KIDS ALONE. Pick on someone your own age.

this whole issue has absolutely nothing to do with consolidation. i attend jamesville high school and love it there. it's not a matter of downing other high schools we just want to keep ours. please keep your negative comments to yourself. the problem has been taken care of and he will not be back. although this is very disgusting, none of us at the school have been harmed. some people on this website need to grow up and focus on the topic of this blog. whether it's clear to you or not, everything is not about consolidation. it seems like every blog that is posted up here turns out to be about that issue.

staying clear, you want to pull the county together, start by sending tom daily out the door with a small severance package. He has made it his desired legacy to consolidate the schools of this county, no matter what he has to do. He has driven more wedges than anyone.

I work in the martin county school system and see what goes on from school to school. What really bothers me is that theres alot of people out there in this county that loves to point fingers and just stir alot of dust up should u say. Ill be glad to see the day that i can go to the different schools and not hear something negative about the other and vice-versa. Im so ready for this consolidation issue to be resolved either which way it may go. Its time for both sides to realize that change is coming to us all one way or the other. We make so many changes in a day that are over looked..your direction...mind...eye site..etc. I can only imagine what other people in and out of this county may think of all the blogs that are posted. It would be really nice to log on to witn and not have such negative talk back and forth. Come on people we have to pull this county together some how! We do it every year for relay for life and other events..Lets do it in our everyday lives now...please!!
