Golf Course Workers Accused Of Butchering And Eating Dog

Two former golf course workers accused of butchering and eating a patron's pet dog two years ago have pleaded guilty to animal cruelty.

Saturnino Palting and Nelson Domingo, who had theft charges dropped as part of a plea agreement Wednesday, face a maximum five years in prison when they are sentenced in July.

The dog's owner, Frank Manuma, says Caddy, a 8-month German shepherd-Labrador mix, vanished after being left tied up near a maintenance shed.

Witnesses say they saw the Kalihi men load the 50-pound dog into a car and drive away at the end of their shift at the Moanalua Golf Club on Dec. 16, 2007.

The club fired the workers and investigators later told Manuma the two men butchered and ate his pet.

First problem is that the owner left his dog unattended in a public place. So its partly his fault. What those 2 guys did was wrong but if the dogs owner had of kept the dog with him or better yet left him at home then his dog would not have been taken and eaten. And for the record I like animals and in my opinion its irresponsible to leave your dog tied up and unattended anywhere but at your residence.

A deer is a wild animal not a pet. Enough said.

This is so disgusting.....I can't even think of anything to say i'm so disgusted. If these low lifes want to eat dog so bad, they need to go back to where they came from, whatever country it is you guys are talking about, and eat THEIR own dogs. Leave people's pets alone. I feel sorry for the owner. I know our dog is like a member of our family, so to find out that this happened to your own dog, he must have been pretty devastated. But then again, I would have never tied my dog to a shed while I went out and played golf. I wouldn't have let my dog out of my site.

Note the "American sounding" names of the perpetrators. Maybe they thought someone had left them a tip. I've eaten dog while serving in the miltary in the far East, not bad at all once you get over the idea you're eating FIDO. Barbequed monkey ain't bad either, but I draw the line at fried rat.

I cannot believe you are allowing the post about eating puppies. You need to remove that. I think I'll copy this page and send on, maybe that will curtail you winning anymore excellence in journalism awards this year. If this was a post degrading Obama in any way, it would not have been allowed.

Moanalua Golf Club is in Hawaii, and the last names fo these guys indicate Asian heritage. I can tell you from first hand experience in Hawaii that these folks eat dog. I wouldn't eat any, but it's just totally acceptable in thier culture. They do dog about like we have pig-pickin's here in the east. The part about them stealing the dog now that is Wrong, and they should be prosecuted for that. But havin a dog-pickin, now that just a little to wierd. Buzz-
