Men Charged In Robberies, Customer Dragged And Shot At

Two people are charged with a robbery in which a customer at a Martin County convenience store was dragged across the floor and then shot at in her car as she tried to get to safety.

The two charged are also accused in an Edenton robbery.

Here's how the robberies and arrests came about:

Police say an armed man entered the Wilco Hess on East Boulevard in Williamston on April 22 about 11 p.m. while there were one customer and two employees in the store.

They say when the customer tried to leave, the suspect grabbed her, pushed her down and dragged her across the floor.

Police say when the robber went behind the counter and demanded money from the cashier, the customer ran out and got into her vehicle. They say the robber then ran out and opened fire, hitting the passenger side of customer's vehicle. She was not hurt.

As police investigated, they learned the Williamston robbery was linked to another robbery, this one on April 21 in Edenton.

Williamston, Edenton and Elizabeth City police began working together, and they arrested Samuel Geddie and Clifton Perry Jr., both of Elizabeth City, and charged them in both robberies.

Both face charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of firearm by felon, attempted first degree murder and first degree kidnapping for the incident in Williamston.
