To Patriot: Dude, you are an idiot. Obviously someone forgot to take their medicine. I can't wait to get back from my second tour in Iraq so I can keep arresting other idiots like you. Go ahead and keep ranting, it's you're right to do so. But what you are starting to sound like is a domestic terrorist. You sound like the type of person who reads conspiracy blogs and then takes it to heart as fact, instead of the interesting yet fictional reading it is. Just remember buddy, when some other idiot is driving while impaired and he hits you're vehicle, don't come crying to me because I am just a traitor, remember? Oh, and to who ever it was who was talking about paying our salaries...WE PAY TAXES TOO!!! So we pay just as much into our salaries as you do, IDIOT!!! I mean really, I knew there were dumb people in this world, but geez.

GPD had them a mighty checkpoint last night coming into Greenville on 264 at Hastings Ford. Seemed like a dumb spot since most of the college crowd that way uses the bus to go downtown. Then again, a college degree isn't needed to be a cop. I went thru it and they didn't really check me out but cost me some time on my nightly copperhead run.

Steve: You must be a JOHNNY LAW COPPER, or else a cop-lover. Well, bully for you, my man, but I'm here to tell you that John Law don't cut no mustard with this 'ol boy. No, Sir, huh-uh! I ain't ABOUT to be stopped at no CHECKPOINT by no LAW-DOG. I got me a '57 Chevy, she's long and lean and black ... I'll just turn around and run from 'em and never look back. Yes Sir! Put my foot in that motor and let those ponies run! Whoee! SON! Never give in to 'em, boy ... I say: NEVER GIVE IN! Praise God that you a REBEL 'cause the SOUTH'S GONNA DO IT AGAIN! Yeah!

I think that most people did not pay attention in drivers education. Does anyone remember them telling you that driving is a priveledge, not a right? If you do not like checkpoints, turn in your license and stay home!! Freedom is the ability to do what you want without infringing on the rights of anyone else. Seems everyone wants justice until it happens to them!

I have no problem with the cops, I have had to call them and rely on them in several situations. I am glad they are there when I need them (and when I dont). However recently I have been seeing something that just seems odd to me, that I think WITN needs to investigate. Why all of a sudden is the Beaufort County Sheriff's office pulling people over and especially young female drivers? I thought it was rare for the Sherriff's office too pull people over especially for minor traffic violations?

To buddy d, I see what you are saying. I would say every second, third, or fourth car would speed the process up. I am all for that. The only problem about that is there will be so many people complaining saying stuff like, "why just me and not the other person as well?". I would say deal with it to any of them. I can understand the point of having one because of a complaint as well. I would be willing to wait 5 minutes as well if that's what keeps me from going to the hospital.

All of you who think the police is "infriging on your rights" are the first ones to call and scream and yell about the "bad/drunk/complaint of the week driver" in front of you and DEMAND that the "lousy cops" do someting about it. Everybody wants LE to enforce the law...on everybody except them. I once had a guy call in and complain that another car was speeding, the offier located the car AND the complainant who was also speeding and ticketed them both. The compainant called back and said the stop was unconstitutional...but just HIS stop. What a jerk!

I am DON WALLACE. I come from an old and long established family in Washington. We have much power and influence in this area. I HAVE DECIDED TO BAN CHECKPOINTS AND ROADBLOCKS on the roads of Beaufort County. There will be no more stops. I have considered the issue; I have made my decision, and it shall stand. I have contacted SENATOR MARC BASNIGHT, GOVERNOR BEVERLY PERDUE, AND PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA. Legislation is being rushed through this minute. I am DON WALLACE. I have spoken. SO MOTE IT BE.
