There's been another guilty plea in the death of a homeless man who was beaten and then gutted with a broken beer bottle last summer.
Dustin Newcome pleaded guilty to 2nd degree murder. The 22-year-old was sentenced to 24-29 years in prison.
Mike Kozak was beaten over the head with a pipe and tree limb, and then gutted with a broken beer bottle at at homeless camp in Jacksonville.
The court recommends psychiatric treatment and counseling for Newcome. He also agreed to testify against the remaining defendant, Jason Blackmon.
In February Jay Oldaker pleaded guilty in return for his testimony. He is still awaiting sentencing.
Lisa Williams, Kozak's sister told the judge "only someone evil could do this. I hope the men who did this get help."
With the two co-defendants now agreeing to testify, Blackmon will appear in court in two weeks. "Mike Kozak never treated another human being with a breath of contempt. I just want them to turn the evil around, I just want them locked up," Williams told the judge.
