Police: Man Kills Girlfriend And Himself, Leaves Child Behind

Police in Roanoke Rapids say a man shot and killed his girlfriend in the
parking lot of a daycare.

Police Chief Jeff Hinton says 39-year-old Lavern Bradley Jr. confronted the woman at the 800 block of Franklin Street after she had put a young child in her car.

Investigators say Bradley shot 38-year-old Dawn Taylor three times, then shot himself once in the head.

The child was not hurt in the incident.

Investigators would not say whether the child was related to Taylor or Bradley.

From what I understand the domestic violence was not from the man but the woman. That doesn't give him the right to do what he did. It was still wrong but we shouldn't assume that the man is always the one abusing the woman. Maybe this young man was reaching out and no one reconized the signs. From what I heard most of the story that was reported and printed wasn't true. The young man was at the daycare to pick the child up first. We shouldn't assume that because the paper or the news printed the story that it is true. What he did was definatly wrong and I wish that he would have gotten some help.My heart & prayers goes out to both famlies and the children involved. It was a tragedy. The victim and the young man involved have family that is grieving. Lets not forget that and stop being so quick to judge! May GOD have mercy on his soul and bless both families.

Just pray for this child that it goes to a loving home. What is this world comming too, people have to be sooo mean...I am glad this child was not hurt, and hope that it is too young to know what went on.
