A high school assistant soccer coach is under arrest, accused of inappropriate sexual contact with one of his players.
The Onslow County Sheriff's Office says Christopher Roush is charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Detectives says Roush is accused of contacting the 16-year-old girl over the computer and then having a sexual relationship with the student.
Deputies say last week they were alerted by Swansboro High School's principal that one of the assistant coaches may have had inappropriate sexual contact with one of their players.
Onslow County Schools spokesman Earl Taylor says Roush was a volunteer assistant coach, not an employee of the school system. He said Roush began volunteering in the fall with the boys teams and then moved to the girls team when their season started.
Taylor says Roush's services have been terminated his services until a full investigation is complete. Taylor says the contact with the student did not happen on school property.
Several search warrants have been served and investigators say they are waiting for results from those searches. Deputies say more charges could be filed.
The 23-year-old Roush is under a $5,000 unsecured bond.
