For the second time in less than a year, the football team of J.H. Rose High School is forced to cope with the death of a teammate.

J.H. Rose football player, Tony Turnage, was shot and killed early Friday morning after police say he was involved in a robbery with three other young men.

Tragedy hits the Rampants once again as it was just last fall that Jaquan Waller died from head injuries he suffered in practice then during a football game.

For one teammate and close friend, he calls Turnage a jokester and a good guy to be around, he says just don't call Turnage a thug.

Head football Coach Tod Lipe says the team had a meeting Monday morning to help players cope with Turnage's death and talk about the consequences that come from making bad decisions.
