Police have released the name of a teenager killed over the weekend.
The Jacksonville Police Department says its investigating the homicide of 17-year-old Omar Decerra. However, the brother of the victim told the Jacksonville Daily News the correct last name was Becerra.
The young man was found shot to death on Davis St. in Jacksonville around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night. No one has been arrested.
According to Jacksonville Police around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night they responded to the area of 1217 Davis Street in reference to gun shots.
When Police arrived they say they found a 17 year-old male on the ground suffering from a single gunshot wound.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

April 19, 2009
On 04/18/2009 at approximately 10:30 PM officers with the Jacksonville Police Department responded to the area of 1217 Davis Street in reference to gun shots. Upon arrival officers located the victim on the ground suffering from a single gunshot wound. Several other subjects were attempting to render aid and perform CPR. EMS was immediately notified and responded but unfortunately the 17 year old male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The area was quickly secured by the responding officers who immediately began speaking with witnesses. The Jacksonville Police Department’s Investigative Services Division is working closely with the Uniform Patrol Division to resolve this case.
