A Camp Lejuene spokesperson does confirm that a Lejuene marine was arrested in Boston.

State Police there charged 22 year-old Cpl. Justine W. Reed with possession of an inferno machine and attempting to put an explosive on an aircraft.

Published reports say the airport screeners at Logan Airport found a gun, grenade fuse, and four magazines of ammunition inside of Reed's luggage.

WCVB reports Reed was traveling through Boston from Las Vegas on US Airways on his way Charlotte, North Carolina. WCVB says TSA officials in Boston are now questioning how Reed's luggage cleared the airport in Las Vegas.

Reed is being held on a 50,000 dollar bail at the State Police barracks at Logan International Airport.

His first court appearance will be on Tuesday. Courts will be closed Monday as Massachusetts celebrates Patriots Day.

I'd really like to hear the Marine's side of the story. It's not illegal to transport a gun/ammo in your checked baggage. Not sure what the deal is with the grenade fuse, without the grenade-but if I'm to give the benefit of the doubt, it's possible that it's just one of those thing. It seems odd to have a grenade fuse, but no grenade if your intentions are nefarious.
