Two Dead In Accident Outside Of Goldsboro

It was a deadly Saturday afternoon on the highways as two motorcycle riders are dead after slamming into a pick-up truck head on.

It happened on US Highway 13 just outside of Goldsboro Saturday when a pick-up truck crossed the center-line.

Trooper AR Folwer of the North Carolina Highway Patrol tells WITN that Charles Poe Jr 59 of Greenville and Lenwood Whitley 57 of Chocowinity died in the wreck.

Fowler says 5 motorcycles were involved in the crash.

The driver of the Ford F-150 pick-up was 32 year-old Billy Jo Folwer who has been charged with 2 counts of felony death by motor vehicle among others.

One of the three people taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital is listed in critical condition.

Fowler is being held in a Wayne County Jail on a Hundred-thousand dollar bond.

Trooper Fowler and the driver of the pick-up truck Billy Jo Fowler are of no relation according to the trooper.

Amanda I just wanted to tell I am sorry for lose. I have been told that your daddy was a great man and a great friend to many people. I am Jeffs sister in law and he talks about your dad and Mr. Poe all the time. I am praying for you and your family, for Mr.Poe family as well. they will be missed, but I wanted to say something that Jeff told me yesterday while i was in the hospital with him his words " they will be greatly missed but we all know that they are watching over us everyday and every time the bikes are taken out, two biker angles looking over their family and friends.they will be missed but they live on in our hearts." God Bless everyone that has anything to do with great people.

In response to Goldsboro on April 24th. Thank you for your response. You are the first person to come close to an apology for what Billy did. I believe everything you said about he and his family. I wish Billy would have apologized at least once during all this. He did not at the scene, his arraignment, in a note to the families, or any other way. Maybe it would have helped ease some pain and anger. If I caused this chaos, I would be down on my knees begging for the forgiveness of all the families, no matter how long it took. Thank you again for your compassion.

My dad is Wayne Whitley, and I meant to use is instead of was because he will always be my daddy, I would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support during this past week THANK YOU. I've read through the comments and I know it is a terrible time for all the families and I do feel sorry for Billy Folwer's family but I have no sympathy for Mr. Fowler himself, the only person he feels sorry for is himself because he is sitting in jail, that was evident in court when he asked for his bail to be reduced so he and his family would not have to pay a fee to a bail bonds man, how selfish. Mr. Fowler chose to drive his truck while HIGH ON PILLS THAT SOME WERE AND MOST WERE NOT PRESCRIBED to him, he verbally admitted that he knew better than to drive and did anyway, he knew exactly what he was doing. Any person that hides his pills at the scene and asks friends to remove the evidence is not sorry for what he did but sorry for what he is about to go through.

I apologize. That last "mommy and daddy" comment was in appropriate. This message board has turned sour and isn’t helping anyone. However, I still believe those who wish to remain anonymous should remain quiet!

You people too afraid to put your names out there should keep your opinions to yourselves!
