A Sunday school teacher has been arrested and charged with kidnapping and killing a California girl whose body was found in a suitcase.

Tracy Police Sgt. Tony Sheneman says 28-year-old Melissa Huckaby was arrested late Friday night after voluntarily going to police for questioning about the death of 8-year-old Sandra Cantu.

Sandra's body was found inside a suitcase in an irrigation pond on April 6.

Huckaby previously told a local newspaper that Sandra visited her home March 27, the day she disappeared. Huckaby also said she had left her suitcase in the driveway that day, and that it was missing.

Huckaby is the granddaughter of Pastor Clifford Lawless, whose Clover Road Baptist Church was the subject of a police search.

Huckaby taught Sunday school at the church.

Who can we Trust Around Our Kids?

Dwayne: I already stated the Bible states the Earth is flat, Sun revolves around Earth, Earth is only 6000 years old. I would give you a direct link to many Bible contradictions but it may be against WITN policy. Go to google and search "bible contradictions" click the first link you see. The Bible is riddled with inconsistancies and contradictions as you will see. While you're looking that up also look up the many who have claimed to be God throughout human history. Good night.

After reading some of the comments I'm so shocked that there is so many people like this around. Some of you are sicker than the person that killed this child. You get on the religious talk and forget about the child and her family, make comments about that and pray for her family. If you dont believe that's something you will deal with one day. I will pray for the family and for all of you that find the need to argue over religion at a time like this. May God be with the family of this little girl through this time of need.

God gives every man, woman, and a child a choice. Once the choices has been made, God NEVER leaves or forsake us. My heart is with this precious baby's family. God have you all in his hand!

We are supposed to be these kids protectors and not harm them. What is this world coming to?

Ank. Name one inconsistency/contradiction in the Bible. And to JustaMom, hold God accountable for this little girls death? No other leader or prophet, not even Mohammed claimed to be God. Not once. Jesus claimed and proved that He is God. Pantheism (belief in many Gods) is a shotgun spray at a tiny bullet sized hole; much effort displayed without result. Jesus said "I am the way".

It is appalling to me that the death of an innocent young child has led to the slander of religion and faith. God does not "allow" things to happen, rather, we, as sinners cause things to happen. When Adam and Eve ate the apple they brought sin into what was a perfect world. Now, we have to deal with the results of that decision. Christ's death allow us the opportunity to accept Christ and a free path to heaven just by believing. However, choosing not to believe is a free path to hell. You cannot have faith without having religion, because you have to have something to believe about God. Your faith is between you and God, but your religion is how you act on that faith to spread the word around the world. Preachers and teachers are not the most dangerous people, I am offended by that comment because I would not intentionally injure any child and grouping us all into one category is like saying that all rednecks are not educated. Its not true. Christ will return..are you ready?

justamom: You have a great point of view on faith. I've given a great deal of thought to what you speak of. I see a big difference between religion and faith. If I were to decide I believed in God, I would not tie a certain religion to it. My faith would be between me and God and that would be pure. If I tied to that something created by man, a religion, my relationship with God would cease to be pure. In my first comment, I was using the word faith as faith in a religion.

Me: Thanks for the verse that was written by man back in the bronze age. Some other points of fact from the Bible: Earth is flat, Sun revolves around Earth, Earth is only 6000 years old. Wanda: Tell me how you know this? You don't because I don't know, and you do not possess mental powers that I do not. Answer me this: There's a man in a tribe deep in the rain forest. He lives his entire life and dies without ever knowing what Christianity is. What happens to him? "Well Ank he goes to hell because he was not saved." Any religion where God sends this man to hell makes no sense, a real God wouldn't be so unfair. "Well Ank he goes to heaven because God doesn't punish his ignorance." Why should he get a free ticket to heaven while others work for it? There are so many inconsistancies with your religion you can never give a real arguement. All you can say is the same ol' "You'll find out when you face God" or "I'll pray for you." Keep your trivial, futile prayers for yourselves.
