A man suspected of selling drugs near a child care center is behind bars.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office charged 31 year-old Kevin Lamont Boomer of Washington with two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine within 1000 feet of a child care center, trafficking in cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Boomer's arrest stemmed from investigators making purchases of crack cocaine from him. Investigators executed a search warrant at his residence and found approximately 32 grams of crack cocaine, plastic baggies used to repackage a controlled substance and marked U.S. currency that was used to purchase crack cocaine from Boomer.
Boomer is in the Beaufort County detention center under a $100,000 secured bond.
At the time of this latest arrest, Boomer was free from jail under a $20,000 secured bond after being arrested December 2, 2008 for possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine.
Lawmen did not say what child care center Boomer was allegedly selling drugs near.
