Man Arrested For Selling Corn Liquor

A total of nine gallons of corn liquor was seized Saturday as Wayne County deputies investigated a call of shots being fired in a neighborhood.

Johnnie Lee Jones of Dudley was charged with possession for sale of alcoholic beverages without an ABC permit and possession of non tax-paid liquor.

Deputies say the 69-year-old Jones was charged after deputies asked to search his home for a handgun. Inside they discovered he was selling illegal alcohol from his home.

They confiscated 20 cases of beer, 7 gallons of corn liquor, 16 pint jars of corn liquor, two shotguns and a revolver.

Gary, that was funny. You do have a point. Jed, I agree with you to. Everyday we read about crackheads stealing to by more. I never heard anyone say they got caught stealing to by more shine, have any of you?

The only problem with making shine is if not made properly can be very deadly. The other problem is Federal taxes, so what would the taxes be on - 10gallons..$100, now what will it cost to house this man in the federal pen, something like $30,000 to $40,000 per year, not to mention health care. Now that just not sound productive. The beer he would have to have paid taxes. So based on some of Obamas appointments he should be able to just pay the taxes, don't you agree? I agree he has broken the laws of the US.

Dwayne, you said a mouthful.Say's he is 69. I'm guessing he doesn't have a long record or that would have been thrown in too. These old timers are probably trying to make ends meet just to by medicine and pay doctor bills. The government just don't care about the common working man.

Well it looks like 18 months federal. At least that's what they gave Popcorn. Makes you feel real warm and fuzzy when Obama's cabinet members are criminals (tax evasion)and they get job promotions. Elitist vs the common man. Change you can believe in.

Non taxed being the operative word here. Evendually government will put a tax on current illegal drugs and then it will be legal. After all its about the revenue not morals or anything else. Government has proved they cannot control drugs so just like alcohol they will impose a tax a make it legal for everyone.
