10-Year-Old Leads Police On High-Speed Chase Before Crashing

Police say a 10-year-old Indiana boy led officers on a high-speed chase before crashing his parents' minivan.

Aurora Police say the boy was treated for minor injuries at a hospital after the Thursday morning three-mile chase and then taken to a juvenile detention center in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

The van hit several vehicles before police set out "stop sticks" to try to stop it. The boy swerved around the spikes but struck a utility pole and then stopped.

Police Chief Dana Cotton says the boy could face felony charges of auto theft and evading police. Aurora is in southeast Indiana.

Put him in jail for a night. Even if I were his parents, you best belive I would let him spend the night in there. Little brat. I also blame the parents for allowing that child to have easy access to the keys. ACE..I agree. He is bing enough to act like he thinks he is an adult, let him face the consequences.

He wants to act like an adult, let him take responsibility as an adult and send him to jail. What if he had killed someone. Let him go to jail.

Yeah, what kind of punishment will this "brat" get, in line with being charged with a felony at age 10...maybe he won't get to shoot off firecrackers till he's 25? Or he won't get to buy video games till 18? No cell phone till graduating high school? (The latter would be sheer TORTURE for many people, young and old!)

Oh yeah, those felony charges will stick very well. The only way the parents would be charged is if they admitted to letting him drive, then he would still face felony evading charges himself. I am sure he will spend some time in Juvenile detention after this stunt!

I'm sure he's a little brat but felony charges at 10 years old? Don't think they'll ever stick, at least against the boy. The will probably end up charging the parents.
